When is the Festival on?

What is the Festival all about?
Mid-Mountains Garden Festival is a fundraising initiative of the Hazelbrook Public School P&C (Parent & Citizens) Committee which was established in 1984. Local garden owners generously open their gardens to visitors in order to raise money for Hazelbrook Public School to enhance the students education and school experience. The Festival is organised by parent volunteers and supported by local businesses.
What does the money raised from the Festival go towards?
Other than the expenses incurred from putting the Festival on, all money raised through ticket sales will go towards an upgrade of the school’s technology systems and enhancing the school’s technology resources and programs.

TICKETING
Where can I buy tickets?
Here on the website in the “Tickets” section or in-person at the garden gate on the day.
Are there any ticket bundles?
Yes. Buy two adult tickets for $65
Are the tickets limited to one weekend only?
No. You can access both Festival weekends (14-15 and 21-22 Sept) with your ticket.
Are the tickets transferable?
Yes. If you’re no longer able to make it, pass them on to friends or family. As long as they have your ticket, they’re through the garden gates.
Do you do refunds?
We only offer refunds if the Festival is cancelled. The Mid-Mountains Garden Festival is a fundraising initiative of Hazelbrook Public School P&C. The money raised from ticket sales goes directly back to Hazelbrook Public School to benefit the children.
I’ve bought my ticket online. Where can I find it?
Once purchased, your ticket is automatically sent to the email you provided at checkout. The tickets will be sent from our ticketing provider. Search for “order@humanitix.com” in your inbox. Make sure you check your Spam folder as well.

HOW TO GET HERE
How do I get to each garden?
We suggest driving or getting public transport and walking.

Some of the gardens are close to train stations. Visit transportnsw.info/trip for public transport information and plan your trip.
Is there parking?
Street parking is available at all the gardens. However as these gardens are in residential areas, there are some gardens that have preferred parking spots for visitors. These areas will be signposted.
Binyang Garden in Hazelbrook has very limited parking outside their home. Please park near the Hazelbrook Rural Fire Station or Landseer Rd and take a short level walk to the garden.
Are there shuttle buses?
Unfortunately we’re a school fundraiser with very limited resources! We are certainly not at the scale where we would be able to facilitate shuttle buses like more commercial garden festivals. If driving yourself or public transport is not an option, we would suggest enlisting a friend or neighbour who can drive to come along!

FACILITIES & ACCESSIBILITY
Are there refreshments or food at any of the gardens?
No, but parents from the Hazelbrook P&C Committee will be hosting a sausage sizzle and cake stall at Hazelbrook School for Election Day on 14 Sept and our friends the Hazelbrook Scouts will be at Hazelbrook Scouts Hall on 70 Railway Parade on 15 Sept, 21 and 22 Sept with a sausage sizzle too.
Are there toilet facilities at any of the gardens?
No. Public toilets are available at Bulls Camp Reserve in Woodford, Hazelbrook Village, Gloria Park in Hazelbrook, Hazelbrook Scouts Hall on 70 Railway Parade and Lawson shops.
Are the gardens wheelchair or/and pram accessible?
Unfortunately most of the private gardens have not been designed for wheelchair access. Most will have steps or narrow stone paths and are on sloping or inaccessible blocks that will need to be navigated carefully. Tundurra in Linden is the most accessible out of all the gardens and some gardens like Banool, Frugal-lea, Adelina Cottage and Wind Borne will have access to partial views of the garden. In these instances, the person in the wheelchair has free entry and only the “pusher” pays. Please make arrangements with the Festival Organisers prior to your visit by emailing midmountainsgardenfestival@gmail.com

GARDEN RECOMMENDATIONS
Which garden is good for kids?
All, especially when there’s a scavenger hunt across all nine! But some kid-friendly highlights include Tanglewood with its bush rocks and meandering pathways for the curious child, Tundurra which has extensive grounds for roaming freely (and a surprise pet), Banool with its massive treehouse and secret gardens.
I’m a plant lover. Which one should I not miss?
Binyang, Tanglewood, Wind Borne and Banool.
Which gardens focus on productive gardening?
Frugal-lea, Binyang and Yarrawa.

I’m a volunteer, do I need a ticket?
No, part of volunteering means you get to go for free. Your comp ticket will be emailed to you by the Organiser.
